One of the coolest things we’ve come to find about Coachella is that there’s really no wrong way to do the weekend. Whether you’re a dedicated car camper or renting a house with friends, sticking to the Sahara tent or laying low in the beer gardens, posting up at pool parties or the first into the festival gates early in the AM, it’s always a good time. However no matter what your Coachella style, nearly every festival goer can agree that the three days of intense desert heat, massive crowds and nonstop dancing can take a serious toll. Safe to say, it pays to come to the party a little prepared. Don’t forget to pack these Coachella essentials before making your way to the polo fields.
Don’t even think about hitting the festival without a hat! While there are plenty of options out there, we’d suggest finding one with a brim wide enough to shade your entire face, and one you don’t mind getting a little dirty should a random dust storm kick up.

An insulated water bottle like these ones from S'well are perfect for filling at the water stations throughout the festival. Unlike disposable bottles, these will keep your water ice cold all day long, as well as save you money in the long run. We’re fans of the smallest size as they fit easily into backpacks and bucket bags.

Spending all day long in the sun can be brutal. Keep chapped skin at bay by bringing along a tube of Coconut Balm. The thick, hydrating salve has so many different uses and will keep skin hydrated and soothed all weekend long.

There’s no denying that the clothes end up being a huge part of Coachella, but don’t be so into your look that you’re sacrificing comfort for fashion. You’ll end up walking several miles by the end of each day, so packing a pair of shoes that can go the distance is so important.

Is it just us, or are sunglasses notoriously easy to lose? Save your eyes (and yourself the headache) by bringing a backup pair. And if there was ever a weekend to leave your valuables at home, this is it—instead, opt for a few pairs of inexpensive sunnies.

This refreshing facial spray makes for the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. Not only does it restore your skin’s pH balance, but it also reduces redness and revives makeup with just a quick mist.

While there are charging stations located throughout the festival, keeping a portable battery is probably a good idea. Who wants to be tethered to an outlet when there are so many great sets to see? And at the end of the night when your phone’s nearly dead, a backup battery is a serious savior.

If you haven’t yet started sipping coconut water religiously in preparation for Coachella, start NOW. Unlike regular water, coconut water is packed with electrolytes (which need to be replenished after long days spent dancing your butt off). Chug a coconut water in the AM before heading into the festival, and thank us later.
