6 Steps to the Perfect Productive Morning

Let’s face it. Mornings are crazy and routines usually consist of snoozing your alarm (just 5 more minutes!), drinking a cup, or three, of coffee, and getting ready for the day as quickly as you can. But what would you do if you had time in the morning? Real time for yourself to start the day that leaves you refreshed and ready to meet your goals. Here’s six steps, from us to you, for the perfect productive morning. 

 

Step 1: Don’t snooze that alarm

As tempting as it is, the most productive thing you can do in the morning is get up on your first alarm. Those few extra minutes may sound good, but they won’t actually make a difference and may even make you more groggy. And we all know how easily that five minutes turns into thirty. The sooner you get up, the sooner you can drink that coffee!

Step 2: Make your bed

Making your bed in the morning ensures that you did at least one productive thing. A made bed keeps a room looking clean and jumpstarts your enthusiasm for completing tasks. It also keeps you from crawling back in it- why would you want to ruin the perfect setup of decorative pillows and throw blankets you spent hours picking out? If that’s not enough to convince you, just imagine how good it’ll feel to get into a perfectly made bed at night. 

Step 3: Meditate

Here at Kopari, we start our meetings with a quick meditation. A few minutes of quiet meditation can change the entire day ahead of you. It is proven that taking this time for yourself allows you to feel rejuvenated, relaxed, and relieved of any negativity on your mind. Step 4: Step up your breakfast game

We’ve all heard breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Moms everywhere have ingrained it in our heads for years. Knowing this, why do we settle so often for a piece of toast or quick protein bar? Take some time to make a healthy meal for yourself. Cooking offers you time to chill out, maybe even listen to your favorite playlist. A delicious, healthy meal full of nutrients will leave you ready to tackle that to-do list.  Two great breakfast options are:

  • A veggie egg scramble. Sauté all your favorite veggies in a pan and add in your eggs. Pair the scramble with some toast and turkey sausage and you’re golden- just like your eggs.
  • Oatmeal with fruit and nut butter. You just checked off 4 different food groups with this one. Maybe even drizzle some honey to sweeten it up. 

Step 5: Write out your to-do list

Making a to-do list ensures you won’t forget any important tasks for the day. Seeing everything written down will prevent you from thinking “hmmm can’t I just push this to tomorrow?” Tomorrow usually means next to never or leaves you feeling overwhelmed. Leave your procrastination habits in the past with those low rise jeans! Plus, is there anything as satisfying as seeing a fully checked off to-do list at the end of the day? You can visually see how productive you’ve been and take pride in it as you finally have the night to relax. Watching Netflix with some wine is so much more rewarding after grinding out all your goals for the day. 

Step 6: Skincare 

Finally, give that skin the attention it deserves! If you’re going to tackle the day ahead, you should feel refreshed and pampered.
